Rokkaku, meaning '6-sided' in Japanese, refers to the hexagonal rooftops seen on temples and stone lanterns across Japan. These roofs symbolize the purification of the six senses in Buddhism, reflecting their importance in Japanese art and culture.

These rooftops inspired the design of Rokkaku. I wanted to combine ancient Japanese art and culture with modern techniques to create a beautiful, minimalistic piece. While the function of the piece is designed for ramen, other dishes can also be eaten out of it.
