This light was a built on a ceramic study I wanted to conduct which looked at how ceramics can be formed if it could act like fabric. The idea came when I was looking at making a light with silk. This had lead to the question of if I could manipulate clay similar to fabrics which it draped over an object to get it's final form.
While there were mishaps with cracking because of thin clay, as well as structural issues, the final results proved to be promising. While a crack did appear in the final look, I used it as an opportunity to make the mistake into art.
