Hair thinning and hair loss can happen for any reason, whether it is genetics, hormonal, or just stress on the body. The medical term for hair loss is known as Alopecia, also known as male and female patterned baldness. Most hair loss issues focus on the male population; however, women are also at risk of experiencing hair loss everyday. Currently today, 50% of women will experience hair thinning or hair loss in their lifetime. 12% will see it in their 20s, which will increase to the point that by their 50's, the percentage will hit to 40%.

One of the biggest issues faced throughout the hair growth progress is monitoring and tracking throughout the journey. Because growth takes months to notice, it is only after a few months have past can one tell if a product is working or not.

Folia is a smart mirror interface that not only helps with the application of products like minoxidil and serums onto the scalp through messages for blood flow to encourage thicker growth but also monitors and tracks the progress each day to determine what works and doesn't to each person.
